Jamie is an experienced Celebrity Journalist
– but also an extremely energetic, capable & engaging performer
whose infectious sense of humour & likable personality translates
very well to both radio & screen.
Jamie’s specialist topics being celebrity/entertainment news &
sport – however his general demeanour, energy, talent with jokes
& impressions, enthusiasm & patience would translate well to
the genre of children’s TV.
Currently Jamie juggles his role as Showbiz & Entertainment Reporter
with his job producing Magic Indulgence, a celebrity led, hour long
show each Sunday night. He previously spent a year as the Executive
Producer for Neil Fox’s (“Foxy”) breakfast show at
Magic FM, helping to take it to Number One in the London commercial
radio market.
Jamie’s broadcasting career began on hospital radio in his home
town of Cardiff, but his foray into commercial radio came when he performed
as a backing dancer on stage with Peter Andre while working at Galaxy
Radio, Bristol.
However he was very young & didn’t know any better at the
time……
His desire to progress in the industry finally becoming fulfilled when
he progressed from Head of Broadcast Co-ordination at TalkSport Radio
to becoming one of their main producers & regular Entertainment
Journalist – a position he held for 5 years before being headhunted
for current role at Magic FM in 2006.
At TalkSport, Jamie gained valuable experience & built a fantastic
reputation for being a reliable, interesting & always in demand
Showbiz Reporter – covering events such as:
The Brits, The Bafta’s, Empire Film Awards & many film premières
including Star Wars, Pirates of The Caribbean & Miami Vice
Never one to miss an opportunity in the name of “showbiz goss”
Jamie is often witnessed endeavouring to use his irresistible charm
on an array of Hollywood & home grown celebs, unfortunately many
of the ladies do their best to resist & he claims his most embarrassing
moment to date is when Cameron Diaz cruelly dismissed his line of questing
at the première of In Her Shoes (but in fairness his one question
to her was about Brentford Football club!…..)
A truly funny guy, a team player & true all rounder Jamie Edwards
is definitely one to watch out for in the future.
Jamie’s TV work includes: Presenting on TalkSport TV & being
a regular ‘call in’ expert on Channel 4’s Big Brother’s
Big Mouth with Russell Brand. He has also hosted the UK Hip Hop Championships.
